For a pure-math priority, Bath is below Warwick / Durham / Edinburgh on the pure-math axis. Bath remains on the radar as a hedge but is no longer in the primary shortlist after the 2026-05-22 priority amendment.
Pure vs. applied flavor¶
Flagship strengths: applied / numerical math, statistics, data science, SAMBa Centre for Doctoral Training (statistical applied math). Pure offerings exist (analysis, algebra, geometry) but the cultural emphasis is applied.
Accessibility¶
Bath ISC (in-house international foundation) and ONCAMPUS London → Bath progression. The ONCAMPUS-Bath route does NOT progress to Bath BSc Mathematics directly; CS is accessible via ONCAMPUS at 80%+. So the primary Bath-math route is Bath ISC itself.
